Hospital Services

Annual Patient Visits:  Annual periodic comprehensive wellness exams are recommended for all our patients to make sure they are healthy.  Since pets age faster than people, one year in their life is equivalent to several human years.  It is important to have your pets examined regularly to check for abnormalities, treat existing problems, and discuss preventative health care.

Vaccinations and Vaccine Counseling:  At Oakview Veterinary Medical Center, we believe that no two pets are the same.  That's why each year you will be asked to fill out a lifestyle questionaire for each of your pets.  Using this information, as well as your pets age, breed and medical history, we will help to custom-tailor a vaccine protocol to fit them, along with appropriate vaccine intervals.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.

Anesthesia:  Our Doctors utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all procedures requiring the use of anesthesia.

Radiology and Ultrasound Services:  Our modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders.  All of our radiographs are also reviewed by a board-certified radiologist to further ensure an accurate and rapid diagnosis. Our hospital also offers ultrasound technology to our patients and clients. Our doctors have undergone extensive training in the use of this exciting diagnostic tool.

Electrocardiography Services:  ECG services are available at our facility, our doctors will also consult with cardiology specialists and recommend echocardiograms with a board-certified internist when indicated.

Specialty Services:  Our doctors consult with specialists in cardiology, radiology, ultrasound, orthopedics, internal medicine and exotics from Madison and Appleton to discuss difficult and complex medical cases.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet.

Dentistry:  Dr. Hankison has advanced training in dentistry and our office can offer periodontal treatments as well as more routine dental care such as cleaning, polishing, radiographs (x-rays) and extractions.

Flea and Tick Control:  Our staff will develop a personalized pest contol program to meet the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas and ticks in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday.
