Certified Veterinary Technician

I have always loved animals and have had all sorts of pets throughout my life: dogs, cats, a horse, rodents, and reptiles to name a few. My career with animals started at a big-box pet store where I earned a certification as a canine obedience instructor. My husband and I, along with our pets, moved to Colorado where I decided to attend Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. I graduated with honors in 2013. During school, I was fortunate to do my externship at one of the largest equine hospitals in the country and also worked at an equine rehabilitation center. After graduating from school, I worked at a small animal clinic, in Boulder, Colorado, which incorporated both eastern and western medicine.

After several years in Colorado, my husband and I decided to move back to Wisconsin to start a family. I worked at a mixed animal clinic in the Milwaukee area where I did both in-clinic and ambulatory medicine. Eventually, my husband accepted a job transfer, allowing us to move back to central Wisconsin, where we are both from originally. Shortly after moving back, we had our daughter and I joined the Oakview team.

Currently, I live with my wonderful husband, Brett, our amazing daughter, Adelaide (Addie), our Australian Cattle Dog, Moon, and our four cats, Little Man, Xena, Olive, and Bubbles. In my free time, I like to read, do crafts, cook, and explore nature. I love being a Veterinary Technician and am proud of being part of the amazing team at Oakview Veterinary Medical Center.
